It is SUPER windy up here in Northern Colorado. Soaking up the 60 degree temps, running in the mountains, and only worked 2 hours today! Can you say SUNSHINE!!?!?!? Wahoo!
Just an update to tell all I'm doing fabulous! Learning more about how big and powerful, and awesome the love of Christ is for me.
The story of Samson is one resonating in my head. I don't know why, but I totally have a tendency to be like Samson- prideful, and full of it. The reason we allow pride to come up in our life is because of our insecurities. What are my insecurities? In Samson's case they eventually destroyed him, and he was controlled by his emotions to the point of death. Letting God take complete control, and just soaking up how beautiful and free I am in him!
Felt so powerful and fast today when I was running. There are 45 mile per hour wind gusts and today felt like a good day to run against the wind, and explore the path less chosen. I started out at a steady pace, hit by the sun, and sloshing through the muddy trail. Birds singing, not a soul on the trail, but me! Oh my goodness the sunshine is intoxicating. My body feels alive and powerful.
Went to the clinic to lean how to set up appointments on the schedule, call doctors and family members to work with the nursing staff better. After finishing I went up to check on one of the patients who was just put on hospice. I've really become close to this particular person, because he/she has traveled, and has a passion and spice for life as I- even at his/her old age. We've had conversations in Thai, and he is such a joy to be around. Better spend time with people that you care about now, then wait till the end and you can't communicate with them anymore.
What makes me....me, and you...you, is our thoughts, adventures, goals, dreams, fears, and personality. Enjoy each other. Learn about each other. It doesn't matter if you don't talk with the person everyday, or see them- but just in the time that you do see them, or talk with them- let the know how much you care. Look in their eyes and say everything without talking.
Can't wait to see my family again, and hug my little sister. Life is a beautiful gift.

Here, on a microadventure of his own devising, Humphreys cycled the length of the Shetland Islands on a commuter's folding bicycle and paddled between the islands in the folding boat on his back.

Seasoned adventurer Alastair Humphreys has traveled the world. But in 2011, he didn't leave his native U.K. Instead he took a series of microadventures close to home and started a movement to encourage people to explore their own backyards. Here, on a microadventure of his own devising, Humphreys cycled the length of the Shetland Islands on a commuter's folding bicycle and paddled between the islands in the folding boat on his back.

On the first attempted and completed circumnavigation of Ellesmere Island, Jon Turk and Erik Boomer dragged their kayaks for 800 miles across the sea ice, past glacial icebergs and North Pole pressure ridges, before reaching open water. The expedition took 104 days to complete.
