Hey guys! Thanks for all the comments on my blog! I love getting comments, just haven't found how to respond yet...in the works baby.
So I had my 3rd teaching session today where I taught 1 on 1 with a student. I was teaching at an Elementary level basically how to tell someone the time..."it is half past 9, or it is 8 o-clock, it is ten to 2..." that sort of thing. The student's name is Gun and he has been at the Elementary level for 4 years now! He doesn't want to move up but only stays at this level for social reasons, which means..... he knows everything! Haha. He could probably teach the lesson to me.
I didn't know that he was going to be my student, so I planned out the lesson before hand like I would for any other person that level, then I see him walk in and had mixed feelings...oh gosh, this is going to be way too easy on him, AND oh gosh, this won't be a very hard lesson to teach, AND, this student is going to make me look like a great teacher, score! Yhheeep, pretty much those thoughts exactly. But I'd have to say, the best scored lesson so far! I had a great time, covered all the points and the student had a great time as well! I walked out feeling cool, calm, and collected.
I also got to view 2 other students teaching their lessons tonight, with their permission of course. It is funny. This one teacher called Rick, is really quiet in class time with his peers. Usually self contained, doesn't voice his opinion very often, ect. But when he is teaching, oh man! He is so funny! So great with the students! He had me, another teacher, the instructor, and the whole class rolling on the floor with laughter! (okay for all you people who take things literally- not literally. But pretty close) It was so great!
I just got back from dinner and had Pad Thai with cucumber and a lemon soda.
Yesterday, my Irish friend took me to a country club about 10 miles from the heart of town, in the country side to this lake. There were runners everywhere, and I got to run around the lake, just under 6K! It was so nice! A little trail in the jungle with bugs, and birds, and other trail runners. The bomb! Those little Asian guys are fast!
Highlights from the past two days...there it is.
Not that I want this to be included in the highlights, but I have also been sitting on my bum studying for 5 hours a day. Preparing for this 3 hour Grammar exam on Monday, and a 2 hour exam on Phonology on Friday... most people don't pass, and I want to pass, so I'm pounding the English into my brain right now, which is no fun at all. In fact, I will be doing that every night, and every spare moment I get for the next 7 days, so I might not be on to blog for awhile. Who likes to study? Any takers??
Hola back home: Congrats on getting your ears pierced Ruthie! Love you so much!
